Misery Signals: Douchebags & Guitar Hero

|| Took awhile to post this because you're really suppose to see it here:
http://www.a-pathetic.net/zine/archives/647
||

To be completely honest, I was a bit skeptical towards Misery Signals, whose WikiPedia categorizes them as a “progressive metalcore” band. Being a fan of progressive metal myself, I am solemnly under personal oath to keep away from every hardcore metal band that has mindlessly abused the genre and shamed the world of progressive metal. Most bands claiming this genre have proven that the combination of these two styles of music would make an unsystematic glob of foul noise. (Note: “Progressive” is not a word to excuse messiness.) However, after checking out some of Misery Signal’s stuff, I have to say, I don’t hate it at all. They don’t fall under my self-made stereotype and have possibly converted me.

After spending about 3 hours completely lost in our own tiny island, my photographer Sya and I finally discovered the mystical location of the Misery Signal’s show. We met with Karl Schubach, Kyle Johnson and Stuart Ross just minutes after arriving, while still in the state of disorientation and sweating like elephants on crack. These boys were as laid back as you can imagine, geared with baseball caps, bermuda shorts and beer in hand. The interview went on in a little corner just opposite a basketball court with kids, bouncing balls. An unlikely venue but then again, it was totally punk rock so we dug it.

You’ve been in Singapore for a few days now. How do you like it so far?

Stu: I like it a lot! The weather’s really nice and it’s really clean. It’s really nice.

Karl: It’s hot!!

Kyle: We were here (Singapore) for a few days and we went to Jakarta and tonight is the second show of the tour.

Stu: You guys have to lean in to the microphone and speak loudly please.

Karl: Okay okay, I’ll get close. I’ll get close.

How do you think the fans here in Asia are different as compared to those in the US or UK?

Stu: I think there’s a little difference between the audiences. I think the kids here are a little more excited than the average American fan, you know. If we roll through Kansas City Missouri, I don’t think they’ll be as excited to see us as they are here in Asia. But I guess we don’t come here very often so that’s the difference.

Misery Signals was the result of a few bands breaking up. What did you manage to take away from each experience in each band?

Karl: That’s a good question.

Stu: That is a very good question. I think the biggest experience for me at least is that Misery is probably the most full time, serious and life consuming band I’ve ever been in. If I were to do another band after this, this would be the band I’d take the most experience from.

Kyle: I pretty much agree with Stu. I was in a band that was fairly serious before this band, but Misery kinda took it to the next level as far as touring and professionalism goes. My last band was more fun and less shows. So that’s pretty much what I took from that band to this band which is the level of professionalism, dedication and amount of time put into it. That’s definitely the main difference from my last band.

Your music is constantly associated with Shai Hulud’s sound. In your opinion, what are the distinctive features that separate you from Shai Hulud.

Karl: They’ve been doing it for a lot longer. [laughs]

Stu: They write way cooler music? [laughs] I don’t know. They have this epic vibe to their music that I don’t think anybody else can achieve. I think the main difference is that Matt Fox is a maniac. He’s some sort of technical music wizard.

You don’t have anything good to say about Misery Signals? Come on…

[laughs all around]

Stu: I think we have a more heavy and groove based vibe than they do.

Kyle: A little more straight forward as well. We’re not so much all over the place. Not that they do it bad but..

Stu: Our band definitely has some more melodic sensibility that we’ve taken from them earlier on, for sure.

Name a band that you want to tour with.

Stu: Deftones? [laughs] Which will never happen but it’d be amazing. That’s for me, the band I want to tour with.

Karl: Meshuggah.

Stu: Meshuggah would be good too.

Kyle: The Doors. Or probably Led Zeppelin whom you may remember.

Stu: I would love to tour with Propagandhi too which is probably never going to happen either.

Have you ever toured with a band you didn’t get along with?

Kyle: We do this in every interview and there is one band we didn’t get along with and that band is..

Stu: Six Feet Under.

Kyle: Yeah Six feet Under.

Stu: They were the worst band to tour with.

Kyle: I think we’ve pretty much gotten along with everyone we’ve toured with for the most part, except for that band.

Stu: We’ve never really had any conflicts with any bands we’ve toured with. The only band that had ever mistreated us was Six Feet Under but they’re just old douchebags.

With touring, comes long periods of wasting time. What’s the dumbest thing you’ve done out of boredom?

Stu: [Laughs]

Kyle: We invented this game called “First Word Second Word”. I’ll just give you a quick run down. Basically one of us will think of a word and another person will think of another word and you say them back to back and they create funny combinations of words. It sounds pretty stupid but it’s definitely a good time killer.

Karl: Hey Kyle, I’ve got a second word.

[pause]

Kyle: Okay I’ve got a first word. Mr. Rogers..

Karl: Sandwich.

Kyle: Mr. Rogers Sandwich. That’s an example. A poor example but an example.

Stu: It usually turns out a lot worse. [laughs all around]

If you were told that the world was going to end right after a Misery Signals set, what song would you close with and why?

Stu: I think the most appropriate song would be “Set in Motion”.

Kyle: The lyrics are set around that theme so yeah, “Set in Motion”.

What type of music do you guys listen to apart from metal/hardcore?

Karl: [laughs] Kyle..?

Kyle: 60s and 70s rock and roll, British Rock…all kinds of different styles of rock. A couple of the guys listen to a bit of hip hop. Stu likes a lot of Punk Rock.

Stu: I’m a Punk rocker and Karl likes..

Karl: I just like progressive, nerdy, prog rock metal. Is that a word? Is that a genre? Prog rock metal?

Prog…tal?

Karl: Prog-tal.. Prom-tal..

[laughs all around]

If you were accused of murder, what would your alibi most probably be?

Kyle: Mine would be that I was drinking with Stu at a bar because that’s usually where I am so it would be believable.

Karl: Mine would be the internet somehow.

Stu: [laughs] Yeah, you could look on MySpace and see what time Karl last logged on. Chances are it was 4 minutes ago. [laughs all around] I’ll just stick to Kyle’s alibi. I’m usually in my room watching Sopranos or at a bar drinking with Kyle.

If you could be a fly on someone’s wall for a day, whose wall would you be on?

Stu: Oooooh good question.

Kyle: I would be on my own bedroom wall actually. [laughs all around] I love where I live and I have everything I need in my bedroom.

Karl: Give me a second here. Let me think.

Stu: Uhh… who’s the babe in Knocked Up?

Katherine Heigl?

Stu: Yeah she’s pretty hot. I’d hang out in her room all day. She’s a babe.

Karl: I would like to hang out in Devin Townsend’s room when nobody else is around.

Stu: [laughs] Yeah I take mine back. I’d be hanging out in Devin’s room too actually. Or Kyle’s room.

[laughs all around]

I’m going to name you a couple of bands. Just tell us briefly what you think of these bands.

Stu: Hohoho

Karl: Uh oh.

Fall Out Boy?

Kyle: We live with the drummer of Fall Out Boy so we have to like them. Nah I’m just kidding. I think they’re a great band. For the genre that they’re in and the amount of people that are doing it, I think they’re one of the best at what they do.

Stu: I like their pop-punk stuff. I like all their records. I was a fan of them before I knew Andy so I like them.

Karl: They make good music.

This one is on purpose. I know you guys love Metallica so tell us what you think of Megadeth?

Kyle: What I know of them I like. I only know of that band through other members of my band playing them on tour. I don’t really listen to them on my own. But when they come on, I’m excited about them usually.

Stu: I think they’re a poor man’s Metallica and I feel that for Dave Mustaine.

Karl: The only Megadeth songs I know are the ones on Guitar Hero.

[laughs all around]

Between The Buried and Me?

Kyle: I like some parts of their songs but it’s a little too much for me to grasp as a whole. They’re definitely talented musicians and really nice dudes but I can’t really sit down and listen to a record straight through and, not lose interest but kind of keep up with it. It’s a little too much for me.

Stu: I agree. I’ll take it in portions but I love the music and I love the dudes for sure.

Karl: We toured with them and some other bands and that was actually the only band that I watched every single night. So that’s gotta say something.

How about Nile?

Stu: Nile???

Kyle: I…don’t even know anything about Nile. I’ve never heard Nile.

Stu: I don’t really like Death Metal and that band is scary death metal so..

Karl: I like death metal and but I don’t listen to them. I like selective death metal.

Stu: Don’t get me wrong, Nile is brutal but as I said can’t listen to death metal.

Dream Theater?

Kyle: Another band I’m not too familiar with. I’m probably not the best person to ask about Dream Theater.

Stu: I think Dream Theater’s kinda dorky.

Karl: The only Dream Theater songs I know are on Guitar Hero.

[laughs all around]

Okay last band. Avenged Sevenfold.

Karl: Uh oh..

Kyle: Huge pile of dog shit. Nothing good to say about them.

Stu: Their band is horrible. They write horrible music. “Muuusic”. They look like douche bags and their music sucks.

Kyle: I’m sure they’re nice guys..

Stu: Yeah I’m sure they’re sweet dudes and I love that their singer is all jagged. He looks like a rockstar and they play shitty rockstar music that sucks and I think every single note that they produce is fucking garbage.

Karl: They have a song on Guitar Hero and I skip it all the time.

[laughs all around]

Stu: Yeah I would say that the consensus is there. Garbage bag, trash, dog shit.

[laughs] So should I print this or not?

Stu: Yeah! It’s fine. But hey, if you guys have an opening slot let us in.

Kyle: Maybe you can prove us wrong.

Stu: Yeah yeah…M.Shadows and Mr.Gates or whatever your name is.

[laughs all around]

Off The Record

I may be reluctant to admit it but I have accomplished some pretty awesome things in the short span of being a journalist. The 8 year old me would be proud. As a kid, I had always wanted to be a writer. Back then, money had no significance in my life. I would usually fantasize about meeting cool celebrities and getting to actually speak to them on a non-stalker-ish basis would have been enough to make me happy forever. I was convinced that if I fulfilled that one dream, my life would be complete. Then again, I was only 8 years old.

As I grew older, naturally my ambitions grew with me. However, I am grateful for everything good in my life. I may not be the best journalist there is out there, but heck, I'm living an 8 year old girl's dream!

So I wanted to write something that I would have wanted to read, as a kid, aspiring to someday be a music writer. A journalist's experience, off the record.

I feel somewhat limited when I'm writing an official article for a zine because a level of professionalism is expected of you as a journalist. The personal input/touches are put to the very minimal so most of the real emotions and excitement of the interview can only be felt by the people who were present, which to me sucks monkey ass crack. As much as I want to make the readers feel every emotion and laugh as much as I did at that moment, I can't go to the extend of actually counting the number of "haha"s that was involved or alternate fonts to express the tone of voice or rhythm of speech.

Some of these were not published. I'm going by memory to keep the authenticity of this piece to the very maximum.

In order of interview date:

Hydrophobia

Rin: Metal! *hits chest*

I think the most memorable thing about Rin from Hydrophobia was not necessarily what he said but the way he used body language to project enthusiasm and try to make up for the obvious barrier in communication. What a joy, that guy. Haha. One of my first few assignments. Quite the challenge but nonetheless, an enjoyable experience. :)

Parkway drive:

Winston: Cool!….shit. [looks down at his feet and mumbles.] I just broke Jia’s thongs (Australian slang for sandals). He’s gonna be pissed.

I would say that Winston McCall of Parkway Drive was my favourite person to interview to date. He wasn't all that serious and actually had a little fun with the questions I had prepared. Don't get me wrong though, his answers were also very professional. He thought through each question before coming up with an answer and was very careful to not say anything bad about anyone. I asked him a question after the interview itself and also mentioned the words "OFF THE RECORD", and he was discreet even then. (For the record, I DO keep my word when I say "OFF THE RECORD" so I'm not gonna say what we talked about.)

The most memorable thing about this interview was how much the guy would nervously giggle in between questions and reacted every time I finished asking a question. Hahahaha. So at ease and down to earth! I cannot say one single bad thing about this guy. Completely blew away my expectations. Awesome awesome awesome.

P/s: It helped that the people in the production team we worked with were awesome too. Kudos Prettig <3

The All-American Rejects

Nick: There's a California in Singapore?

Probably the most nerve-wrecking interview I had been to. I had trouble swallowing food beforehand and was pretty much an incredibly annoying person to Sya. Hahahaha. It was afterall THE ALL AMERICAN REJECTS and we were dealing with some huge corporate big shots. This WAS also only the second time I had handled everything in terms of liasing. The first time around wasn't the best tale to tell so this one made me extra nervous. But the NOKIA and UMG representatives were VERY professional and friendly to us and everything went as planned. Nice and easy..

We were invited to a semi-formal gathering for media and NOKIA's corporate partners. It was held at the Velvet Underground. Fancy shinanigans that I wasn't all that into. Sya wasn't all impressed either. I mean, it was nice....but I guess it just wasn't our thing. Red wine, champagne, High Heels, Little Black Dresses, Mingling mingles.....Erk.

We interviewed Nick and Mike. A very serious pair. Both knew exactly what they wanted to say and they obviously had ample knowledge of the music industry. Another transparent fact was that all the questions that we were asking them, were nothing new. Every time I'd finish a question, I'd notice either one of them pointing to the other to handle this one. Like "hey I'll take all the questions about the new record and you answer the rest" type of thing. Mike was shy and a bit quiet. He'd always give way for Nick to answer first or wait for his signal to start talking. The huskiness and volume of his voice made it difficult for me to hear what he was saying so I'd just politely nod at everything. Haha. Nick was sitting a little closer to me and I had no problems hearing him at all. The guy was vibrant and wasn't afraid of eye contact. The capacity of intelligence in their answers were impressive and completely unexpected. You can just tell they are musicians who are very serious about their work. I learned a lot from these two.

It was a round table interview (with 2 fellow journos from Singapore Poly who were just delightful) so it was a bit difficult for us. I only got 4 questions out and 1 of which was a one word answer so we decided not to submit it for publishing. The experience overall was exciting experience I will never forget. *stares at VIP tag*

P/s: We DID meet the rest of the members and I have to say, I am very much frightened by Tyson. My short experience with him made me petrified and love him a whole bunch more at the same time. I simply said "Have a good show Tyson." and the guy suddenly leans way forward to my face and says "THANK YOU SO MUCH! :D" The pure and excitable sincerity of his gratitude made me nervous, just a little.

Misery Signals

(in response to their thoughts on a certain band -- not gonna name which :D)

Kyle: Uhm.....are they gonna see this?

Stu: WHY WOULD YOU SAY THAT?? hahaha

Kyle: Okay, just cut that part out.

Misery Signals, my most recent interview. Well, the journey took 3 hours and I got some pruuuutty interesting answers from these guys. To be completely honest, our first meeting with Misery Signals was nothing short of pure AWKWARDNESS. You'd think that we'd be prepared for these type of thing but Sya and I were completely stuck on what to do or say at that point. We had been to so many interviews without having to endure this silent "SSSSSSSSSS" moment with any band. I'm not saying it was THEIR fault. Honestly, I think it was us, just being out of it. I don't know the exact reason why. Haha. I'm generally not good at all with small talk.

The organizer of the show simply stretched out his arms in the "Tadaaa" motion upon letting us in backstage and I honestly had trouble recognizing who was Misery Signals and who wasn't. There were a whole bunch of white guys scattered everywhere doing all sorts of things. I only remember one guy sitting directly next to me playing a video game on his laptop.(Later on to find out this guy was actually the vocalist of this band I was suppose to interview) Only Stu, the guitarist acknowledged our presence with a nod and a smile and i immediately assumed he was the only one we were interviewing. So we kidnapped Stu and brought him downstairs where, just to sorta add to the awkwardness, Sya and I proceeded to talk in our native language. I don't know why we did this but honest to blog, we were just trying to figure out where to have the interview. The stress level made us do things idiots would. After having finally found a small quiet corner for the interview, we were joined by Kyle (wherever he popped up from) and Karl (the laptop guy).

Now here's the weird part: the interview went on perfectly. They were such a ball to talk to and I had laughed like crazy at some of their answers. Abit uncertain of the things to say but it only showed how nicely down to earth they were. I wish they had thought about what they said first before answering but then again, they just spoke their minds and I don't see anything wrong with that. Of course this band has made me some drama and controversy but hey, what they said caught your attention and you probably know who they are now.

Overall, the misery signals interview was, to say the least, Perfectly Flawed. ;)

Getting Nasty With Parkway Drive

Abstracted from Shout!'s Interviews archives

You know you’ve been to a good rock show when your leg wakes you up in the middle of the night, pissed. I could barely walk after a night of watching Parkway Drive’s sold out concert in Singapore. Despite being smothered in a mist of human sweat and temporarily handicapped from the waist down, I thoroughly enjoyed myself.

The show took place at an unlikely venue. The Singapore Arts Museum (SAM) features modern and contemporary visual art exhibits in an authentic atmosphere with snow white, English themed walls and golden chandeliers. Walking through a sea of hardcore and metal kids at a place such as this was, to say the least, different.

I caught up with the singer of Parkway Drive, Winston McCall, hours before the show. Although coming down with a common flu, Winston appeared genuinely enthusiastic about meeting his Asian fans and didn’t refuse any requests for photos and autographs. Two fans actually managed to sneak a photo with the Australian frontman right as when we were preparing to start the interview. I got to take two things from this interview. A hell of a good laugh and a flu from the lead singer.

SHOUT!: Your last record Horizon was released 2 years ago. When can the fans expect new stuff from you guys?

Winston: We’re starting to write at the moment. We have a couple of songs that are pretty much done. The band is expected to sit down and officially write the album in about 2 weeks. That’s when we’ll try and get something out of our brains and see if there are any songs left in there. We’ll see how it goes.

S!: Is there anything the fans can look forward to this year?

Winston: We’re doing a lot of tours and will also be putting out a dvd this year. It’s a dvd documentary that basically covers the entire history of the band. Every tour and pretty much every show we’ve done, including the one we’re doing now that is the South East Asian tour. It’ll also feature a live set we did in Sydney so maybe it’ll keep the kids happy and not wanna kill us. [laughs]

S!: You’ve done every single big ass tour in the book. What was the most memorable tour to date?

Winston: Uhm..I wouldn’t say a huge tour but to be honest, this tour that we’re doing right now. The asian tour has been amazing. We’ve been going to so many awesome places, meeting so many awesome people and to be honest, we had no idea what to expect. Every night, the shows just get better and better, and every night we find ourselves saying like “Holyshit, whats going on?!”. Europe, America and Australia have such similarities but being in Asia and experiencing the different cultures is just amazing. That’s what we love.

S!: There was a rumor that someone left the band. Any truths to that?

Winston: I was reading that! We actually got a comment on MySpace saying I left the band to sing for 50 lions or something, which is my little brother’s band, which he sings in. I’ve heard a few interesting rumors but that’s about the strangest one I’ve heard yet.

S!: So it’s definitely not true right? It was on your WikiPedia.

Winston: Yeah! Yeah, Wikipedia’s great. I go on there every couple of months just to see what shit people are writing. I don’t know where that came from but to be honest, we find rumors funny. We’re not able to correct it so we just laugh at it and see what happens.

S!: You’ve toured with all the great names in metal and hardcore. Is there anyone you have yet to tour with that you would like to?

Winston: Uhm..it’s hard to say. Like you said, we’ve covered so much. There’re bands I’d definitely like to tour with again. The Warriors, Comeback Kid and Misery Signals. But for us, it’s less about the sound of bands, as oppose to the people in the band, like being good people and good friends. Some of the bands we’ve toured with are some of the best friends we’ve made in the world. I’m so grateful to be able to listen to a band, everyday of my life, and get to hang out with them.

S!: Any up and coming bands you’d like to introduce to the readers of Shout?

Winston: I don’t know what the readers of Shout! have heard but Australian bands wise, I’d say 50 Lions, Break Even and Antagonist A.D from New Zealand. That’s just three from the top of my head but they’re all awesome awesome bands.

S!: What do you figure is the key to holding up a good relationship in a band?

Winston: We’re good friends and we all grew up together. We’ve never actually had a serious fight. No ones actually ever hit anyone in the band. It has never ever come to that. I think its because of the fact that we verbally abuse each other non-stop and that puts everyone at the same level so no ones better than anyone else. We’re all just shit so might as well just hang together. [laughs]

S!: Do you crave any kind of food on tour?

Winston: I crave cooking myself. I never get the chance to cook on the road so when I get home, I’m like “KITCHEN YAY!”. [laughs all around]

S!: If you could collaborate with anyone, dead or alive, who would it be?

Winston: Johnny Cash, Elvis, Kanye West and Lupe Fiasco. I like music you probably won’t expect I would like. I love a lot of stuff like country, hip hop, a lot of indie stuff. I’m probably the least metal person you’ll ever meet. I don’t listen to heavy metal at all.

S!: Not at all?!

Winston: Not at all! I listen to a lot of hardcore but Parkway Drive’s probably the most metal thing I’ve ever been involved in my life. [laughs]

S!: What’s the worst thing you’ve ever tasted in your life?

Winston: Uhm..ants. I was really hungry in school and I was sorta known as the guy who would do anything for either money or other people’s food. I’d eat whatever and say “ Oh, give me 50 cents if I eat those ants.” But ants taste fucked! It tastes like some kind of weird acid. [laughs]

S!: Whats the most embarrassing thing on your iPod or music you wouldn’t tell people you listen to?

Winston: None. To me, music is music. It all serves a purpose. It’s just sounds that make you feel a certain way.

S!: So you wouldn’t mind listening to.. let’s say, the Jonas Brothers?

Winston: Well, I don’t listen to it ‘cause it doesn’t do anything to me so you wouldn’t find that kinda stuff in my iPod. But if I did listen to them, I wouldn’t be ashamed. I have been asked that question before and I guess my answers not that interesting. [laughs] But there are some music I don’t like like manufactured music. Stuff where you can tell that the lyrics are just crap and there’s some manufactured beat and some person with a half good voice that’s just not hard to find.

S!: Out of everyone in the band, including yourself, would look best in a skirt?

Winston: Pie. Only because he’s the only one who’s actually worn a skirt. It’s probably somewhere on the DVD. You’ll understand when you see the documentary how pie got in the band and what he used to do before he was the guy playing bass. [laughs]

S!: We got 2 of your fans to ask you a question. The first one is by Nathaniel Darren who is from right here in Singapore. Which bands have the biggest influence on the development of your sound?

Winston: To be honest, the biggest influence we have is ourselves. The whole idea of the band in the first place was to challenge ourselves. It wasn’t to imitate any particular sound or try and push barriers in any direction. It was just more, us trying to do a style of music that we hadn’t done before and it challenged us. We’ve been in hardcore bands before. Jeff has never been in a band full-stop. We just thought, let’s just try and make the heaviest band we can but at the same time, for us, technical. This whole time, we’ve been focusing on trying to push ourselves in that way and become better musicians and remain interested in what we’re doing.

S!: Ashley from Massachusetts USA…

Winston: Holyshit! Mass?! Wow..

S!: Haha yes! She wants to know what your nastiest habit is.

Winston: I have no nasty habits. I’m just great but I’ll dish out nasty habits for other people. [laughs] Our drummer Ben has the worst personal hygiene in the world. The smelliest, just one of the most disgusting person you could meet. The last tour we did in the states, we had a loft where we sleep, in the van and the roof is not so high above it . We woke up one day and there were boogers, like BLOOD boogers wiped on the roof. We were like “who the fuck has done this?” and no one admitted to it. Then we saw Ben digging his nose and wiping it there and we were like “you did it, it was you” and he was like “I swear it wasn’t. I can’t remember it and I swear it wasn’t me”. We were all “Look, if you forgot about it, it’s fine but we know it was you.” So he picks his nose and wipes it on shit and leaves it there. They went black after a week cause no one else wanted to touch them and it was like snort just hanging of the roof. But I’m pretty good. I’m great! [laughs]

S!: I’m sure..! Well thanks for doing this interview!

Winston: Cool!….shit. [looks down at his feet and mumbles.] I just broke Jia’s thongs (Australian slang for sandals). He’s gonna be pissed. They’re not mine. I just borrowed them ‘cause I haven’t washed my socks in a week and my shoes smell like wet dogs. Oh yeah that’s my bad habit! I have bad smelling shoes. But that’s not my fault, that’s just tour.

S!: It’s just boys so..

Winston: Yeah there you go. It’s just boys. [laughs]

Misery Signals talk music, games and...Avenged Sevenfold?

A preview of the Misery Signals interview I did a few weeks ago during their visit here.
The full article will be published on SHOUT! just in time for our May issue so keep a look out for that!

On a personal note:

I've gotten plenty of not very nice comments and messages on youtube about this video, obviously from very "concerned" A7X fans. Thinking it through, I probably have more Avenged Sevenfold fans on my myspace list than I do Mis Sigs fans.
Why so serious? Chillax children, its just music. :) If the band you support is as great as you feel they are, let the music speak for itself. There's no need to go bonkers over it. Just laugh it off.

P/s: I'm a fan of both bands so no, I'm not being biased in any way. :)

Parkway Drive Video Interview?

Prettig Productions were awesome enough to grant Shout! an interview with Parkway Drive when they were in Singapore a few days ago. I anticipated a full on written interview from the session as we were not properly equipped with the necessary things to do otherwise.

However, due to my less than impressive but surprisingly cooperative audio recorder a.k.a my cellphone, cheap-ass but worthy camcorder, and the wonders of windows movie maker, you can now anticipate a video interview with the frontman of Parkway Drive, Winston McCall! :)

I've already prepared a preview promo and you can expect to see it VERY VERY soon!

Till then, play safe kids!

Please note that closing time and date is 23:59 on Friday, 6th January 2009.

ALSO, these are some of the few questions that we will choose to ignore. (As mean as it sounds. RAWR)

1) "Can I have your babies?"
2) "Will you marry me?"
3) And of course, strictly no offensive, racist or sexual references.

We look forward to your questions!

SEE YOU AT THE SHOW! ;)

Cheers,
SHOUT! team
